In a tragic event on Friday, a gunman unleashed gunfire at a supermarket in Fordyce, Arkansas, resulting in the deaths of three innocent civilians and injuring 10 others, including two police officers, according to Arkansas State Police.
The shooting unfolded at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, a close-knit community located 70 miles south of Little Rock, where residents are reeling from the unexpected violence.
Arkansas State Police Director Mike Hagar informed reporters that a total of 11 civilians were shot, with three tragically losing their lives. During the exchange of gunfire, two law enforcement officers sustained injuries, while the suspect himself was wounded and subsequently apprehended by authorities.
"The injuries to the police officers and the suspect are expected to be survivable," Hagar assured, though the civilian casualties varied from non-life-threatening to critically severe.
